Jasper prepares for program’s first state semifinal appearance

Jasper hits the field against Holcomb on Monday

JASPER, Mo. – The Jasper Eagles are still competing in the class one state tournament. The Eagles will play in the state semifinals for the first time in program history, facing Holcomb on Monday.

Holcomb is 26-6 and made it to the championship game last season. Jasper, though, is red hot right now. They’ve outscored their opponents 37-5 this postseason.

“They work hard in practice and do things well and are very coachable,” says Jasper head coach David Osborne. “I told them at the beginning of the season that they need to be prepared to go to the final four, and I don’t think one of them believed me. Throughout the playoffs they’ve really gained a lot of confidence because of the way we’ve played. We’ve played really well since districts and I’m pretty proud of them.”

Jasper and Holcomb hit the field at 1:15 pm Monday afternoon.
