The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office working with the Missouri Department of Conservation to host a hunters safety course. It will take place on October 4 at Carthage Water & Electric. The class can hold up to 45 students.

Firearm safety is an issue the Sheriff’s Office has been trying to promote over the past few years via the implementation of the Eddie the Eagle Firearm Safety program, which is being taught at schools we currently have a School Resource Officers in, and by handing out firearm safety pamphlets at community events we attend. The goal is to reduce the chance of a preventable incident.
