April 2nd, 2019, is election day. Here are items on the ballot in Jasper County, Missouri. After polls close and numbers start coming in, KOAM will have the latest results, just click here.

Jasper County Proposition 1: Shall the County of Jasper, Missouri extend a county wide sales tax from its present September 30, 2023 expiration date at the rate of onequarter of one percent for a period of fifteen years for the purpose of providing funds to construct a new secure Courts Building in Joplin;
complete renovations and additions to the current Jail Facility; complete improvements to the Carthage Courthouse, including addressing security concerns, upgrading and modernizing existing courtrooms, and adding an additional courtroom? If approved, this sales tax will expire on September 30, 2038 or whenever the final payment on the financings for these improvement occurs, whichever comes first. Carl Junction Proposition No. 2: Shall the City of Carl Junction, Missouri, impose a local use tax at the same rate as the total local sales tax rate, currently two and one-half percent (2.5%), Provided that if the local sales tax rate is reduced or raised by voter approval, the local use tax rate shall also be reduced or raised by the same action? A use tax return shall not be required to be filed by persons whose purchases from out-of state vendors do not in total exceed two thousand dollars in any calendar year.
