July 19, 1934 - August 27, 2022
Jacqueline Jean Bolte, age 88, was awarded her angel wings on Saturday August 27, 2022 at Freeman Health Center in Joplin, Missouri following a long illness.
Jacqueline, “Jackie”, as everyone knew her, was born in McCune, Kansas on July 19, 1934 to Jessie Marie (Shaffer) and Willard Abraham Darland. She grew up in McCune and graduated
from McCune High School in May of 1953. She married Charles Nutt, they later divorced. On October 12, 1974, she married the love of her life Lawrence “Ed” Bolte. He preceded her in
death on June 13, 2008.
Jackie spent her life being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to herfamily. Everyone who met her would tell you what a very sweet lady she was. She loved to be
silly and tease with her family.
During her life she worked at Broderick’s Clothing Manufacturer, Hallmark Cards, and the State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons in the late 50’s and 60’s.
She was later employed at Girard High School cafeteria as the best baker ever. She made all the breads, cakes, and baked goods by hand at that time.
She retired in 1992 after 20 years at the school district.
Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, sewing, gardening, and cooking for her family. To thisday, her family’s favorite was her Butterhorn Rolls and her Pecan Tassies. We never missed a
holiday dinner without them. She has made many keepsakes over the years to be forever cherished by her family.
She is survived by her daughters Sue Saunders and bonus son, Joe Weber, of Pittsburg, and Linda Johnson of Frontenac, two step children, Malena Madden of Lanagan, Missouri and Greg
Bolte of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Two grandsons, Jacob Barnett (Beth) and Trevor Saunders, all of Oskaloosa, Kansas, five step grandchildren, Michael Spence, Kimberly Satterfield, Brittany Teeters, Matt Bolte and LaDonna Jones, three great grand-daughters, and 10 great step-grandchildren, also two nephews Jim and Randy (Pam) Handshy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, a sister and brother in law Frank and Joy Rudnick, and a niece Jeri Jones and a step grandson Chris Spence.
Graveside services are planned for Saturday, September 17 at 2PM at the McCune Cemetery, McCune, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an educational fund set up for her great
granddaughters in the care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, Ks.
