INTEGRIS advises public to avoid ER for COVID testing, lists sites
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Integris Health advises the public to avoid emergency departments for COVID testing and provides alternative sites.
In addition to ongoing concerns due to the lack of ICU and inpatient hospital beds, health systems are beginning to fill up with patients looking for COVID tests.
INTEGRIS warns people to avoid the Emergency Room unless they have immediate medical needs.
Testing continues to be a concern for those who think they are sick.
Many community testing sites are available, and many offer free PCR (polymerase chain reaction) as well as rapid antigen tests.
Local testing sites include:
- INTEGRIS Express Care
- Indian Health Services
- Ottawa County Health Department
- Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas
- Xpress Wellness
Health officials continue offering COVID-19 tests at several sites. Some are free, others could cost depending on if the site is attached to a government program.
If you can’t find information on sites, contact your local health department.
