Inmate starting prison sentence for Parsons murder dies unexpectedly

BUTLER COUNTY, Kan. – Timothy R. Moses, 60, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at the El Dorado Correctional Facility in Butler County, Kansas.

Authorities had just transferred Moses to the facility to start his prison sentence after being convicted of a 2017 Parsons, Kansas murder.

When an offender dies in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections, it’s protocol to have the Kansas Bureau of Investigations look into the death. The official cause of death is pending. Officials have planned an autopsy.

Moses was sentenced to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder.

On April 5, 2017, the Parsons Police Department got a call of a person getting beat with a bat at 225 Stone. Police secured the scene while EMS evaluated the victim, Donald Trammell, 59, who died at the scene.
