Roses for Rover? How pet parents plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their pups

Valentine’s Day is all about sharing the love with family and friends. To pet parents, it’s yet another opportunity to spoil their four-legged kids and show them how much they are adored. Curious about how pet parents are planning to celebrate their love for their pets this Valentine’s Day? We surveyed a group of 200 pet parents, and here are the top 5.

1. “Sweet” treats

The most popular way pet parents plan to spoil their furry valentine this Valentine’s Day is to visit a doggie bakery. What pooch doesn’t love to sniff all the glorious bakery smells? And then gets to sample delectable morsels of love – like a heart-shaped peanut butter cookie with icing on top! It doesn’t get much better than this.

2. The great outdoors

For those with active pets, more than 20% of surveyed pet parents plan to head out to enjoy some pet-loving outdoor activities. These include long walks, hikes in the woods, and romps at the beach – or in the snow!

3. Weekend retreat

Fifteen percent of pet parents plan to pack up their pooch and get away for the weekend. Most are planning to head to pet-friendly destinations where there are plenty of activities for their pup. They prefer to stay at pet-friendly accommodations that pamper both people and their pets.

4. Dinner for three

Ten percent of respondents plan to pack up their pooch and head out to a pet-friendly restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Most restaurants with outdoor seating areas welcome furkids. Some even offer special doggie menus, or at least doggie water bowls.

5. Binge watch

For those pets (and their people) who prefer to chillax and unwind on this special day. Snuggling up with their favorite couch potato and binge watching some movies are what’s on the docket!
