I-44 W to I-49 N closes to widen and extend ramps at Fidelity cloverleaf
Gov Mike Parson FOCUS ON BRIDGES campaign continues, see updates on all key projects in our region.
FIDELITY, Mo. — Beginning Monday, August 15, those traveling I-44 westbound to I-49 northbound (Exit 18) will need an alternate route for the next month as the ramp will close for construction.
The construction will widen and extend the length of the ramp and acceleration lane.
“In addition, contractor crews will also install guardrail, signs, street lighting and make drainage improvements at this location.” — MoDOT SW
They also note that weather could cause construction delays.
See the map and the two ramps marked in red. MO-59 north to I-44 west will also be closed.

Stay with Joplin News First on KOAM News Now as we continue to follow bridge and road closures as Gov Parson continues his FOCUS ON BRIDGES campaign which he announced after taking office.
Missouri has 10,384 bridges – the sixth most in the nation. More than 900 of those bridges are in poor condition and 1,131 are weight restricted. Four hundred and thirteen bridges fall into both categories.
Gov. Mike Parson recognized the need for additional funding for infrastructure projects in our state and in January 2019 put forth a proposal to repair or replace hundreds of the state’s worst bridges.
