House fire extinguished in minutes by Joplin Fire, extensive damage to small residence

308 W 18th is a small residence on the east alley of 18th and S Pearl.

JOPLIN, Mo. — About 2:45 p.m. Wednesday calls for fire at 308 W 18th alerted Joplin Dispatch.

Joplin Fire, METS ambulance, and Joplin Police responded.

308 W 18th is on the east alley of 18th and S Pearl. 

Upon arrival smoke and flames were visible from the roofline and the east side of the structure in the alley.

Joplin Police tell us no one was inside the structure. Additionally no one was injured fighting the fire.

Fire was focused on the east side along the alley.

The flames were out within 15 minutes of arrival.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.

Utilities responded to disconnect service due to the extensive damage to the residence today. Repairs will need to be made after fire damage.
