Investigators Conduct A Traffic Checkpoint As They Look For Leads In A Homicide

SARCOXIE, Mo. – Investigators with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office spent part of their Friday afternoon conducting a traffic checkpoint in Sarcoxie as they looked for leads following the death of a Sarcoxie woman.

The officers conducted their checkpoint next to the Kum & Go on High Street.

A white male suspect in the death of Sarcoxie’s Becci Sanders was possibly sighted at that gas station, and he’s also accused of stealing a Subaru Legacy from the victim’s home.

“We’re basically looking for anyone who came through on Wednesday between 3 and 5:30 PM. If they happen to notice anything they thought was suspicious or know anything that may benefit us in this case, we’d absolutely like to hear from them,” said Sergeant Tim Williams with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

The missing Subaru Legacy is a 2015 gray-colored model with a Missouri license plate reading “VB1Y0E.” If you spot the vehicle, please contact that Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
