Home Builders Association Show is underway in Joplin

The 28th annual Home Builders Association Show is underway at the Joplin Convention Center and has more contractors and seminars than previous years.
More than 100 vendors are in this year’s show, with several different options for the infrastructure of your home, such as carpet, granite counter tops and high-technology faucets.
Demonstrations and seminars include gardening and landscaping techniques and how to paint wall designs.
Organizers say it is also a great chance to learn how to repair any future damages to your home.
“We’ve got some weather coming, so maybe you need to learn about roofing and how to repair what’s going to happen,” said Crystal Harrington, Executive Officer for Home Builders Association of Southwest Missouri.
Harrington says that because there are more contractors at the show this year, it is a good opportunity for those looking to hire someone to build a new home.
“It’s the right way to choose a contractor,” she said. “Look at his booth that he has built and it will give you a good idea about what his quality and techniques are, and then it’s a good chance to just visit with him, get to know him.”
The home show is taking place tonight until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1- 5 p.m.
