Helen Marie Clapper

Helen Marie Clapper, 90, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Pierce City, MO, passed from this life on Sunday, June 5, 2022 while at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.
Helen was born on January 26, 1932 in Galena, MO, daughter of the late Clyde Earl Sharp and Lennie Rosetta (Wilson) Sharp.
Helen graduated from Aurora High School with the Class of 1950. She attended the Blue Bonnet Beauty School in Springfield and later became an instructor. She had also worked at the shoe factory in Aurora. Helen enjoyed reading the bible, doing word search puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows, and reminiscing about family and friends.
On August 14, 1965, Helen was united in marriage to Joseph Robert Clapper. This union was celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, raising her children and caring for their home. The past ten years, Helen resided with her daughter and son-in-law where they lovingly cared for her.
Preceding Helen in death was her husband of thirty-nine years, Joseph Clapper; her parents, Clyde and Lennie Sharp; her brother, Clyde Junior Sharp; and sister-in-law, Ruby Sharp.
Those left to cherish her life are her son, Sammy Clapper and wife Julie, of Monett; her daughter, Kathy Flaspohler and husband Brian, of Chesterfield, MO; one grandson, Aidan Clapper, of Monett; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Pierce City, with Pastor Garrett Maxey officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
