Healthy Bourbon County Action Team lands $200,00 in grant money
FORT SCOTT, KS. – The Healthy Bourbon County Action Team recently received $200,00 in grant money.
HBCAT is a 100% grant-funded organization that helps create opportunities for start-up, low-income, and minority people and businesses in Bourbon County and Southeast Kansas.
KOAM’ Jaylon Banks caught up with Rachel Carpenter- HBCAT Director of Economic Growth.
“It makes me feel awesome. I love being able to create opportunities for my peers. That’s my dream to help them achieve their dreams,” said Carpenter.
Up until now, they have been able to aid 65 different people– 51 of which have been female.
With work already getting done, the group hopes to expand in helping the community with more projects.
