Half-Century in Healthcare: Celebrating June
After 50 years at Via Christi Hospital, June Shipman has undoubtedly left her mark.
June Shipman didn’t want a job, but she needed one in order to raise her children.
So she got hired at what was then Mount Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg.
Shortly after her first shift in 1970, June helped the hospital move into its current location.
Five decades later, she continues to be a member of the environmental services team at Via Christi.
While the healthcare industry has evolved over the last 50 years, June’s positive attitude and infectious personality prove the only thing she’s ever spread around her workplace is kindness.
Many of June’s co-workers from over the years joined her for a reception at Via Christi last week, celebrating five decades of her “compassion at every point of human contact.”
