Groundbreaking for new Joplin dental school
JOPLIN, Mo. – Kansas City University held a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday as they got the ball rolling on their new college of dental medicine that’s coming to their Joplin campus.
The new dental school will offer a four year program that should be up and running for students by the fall of 2023.
“Within a 125 mile radius of Joplin, Missouri, every single county is considered a DHPSA or a Dental Health Professional Shortage Area, and so by bringing educators and students to this space to provide oral health care, we are also going to be helping other oral practitioners in this area and serving this community,” said KCU staff member Erinne Kennedy.
Construction on the new school is expected to take 26 months
