Ground breaking at site of new Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center
A ground breaking was held Tuesday at the site of the new Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The $2 million facility will hold 120-beds, giving residents access to physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
The new center will employ more than 100 trained professionals.
“All of the people in our elder care market are trying to respond to the growing needs of the Baby Boomer generation which is now upon us,” says Norman Estes, CEO of NHS Management.
“It means the whole world to me – every time I go to the hospital and a patient says ‘am I going to be able to have a private room if I come over to your home?’ the answer has always been ‘no’ – until now,” says Randall S. Alsup, an administrator for Joplin Health and Rehab.
Officials say the project is expected to be completed by June of 2014.
