The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department has released the name of the man who drowned in the Neosho river in Ottawa County Oklahoma over the weekend, while trying to save another person.

The GRDA recovered the body of 31-year-old Blake Williams of Fairland Oklahoma near the Conner’s Bridge boat ramp.

Authorities believe Williams drowned rescuing a woman who had driven her car into the water.

That woman, 27-year-old Josie Stovall, survived and was taken to the hospital.
