Gov. Nixon appoints interim Circuit Clerk as new Jasper County Circuit Clerk

JEFFERSON CITY – Gov. Jay Nixon has appointed Melissa K. Holcomb, of Joplin, as the new circuit clerk for Jasper County. The position became vacant upon the resignation of former circuit clerk Linda Williams.

Holcomb, a Republican, is a court clerk III for Jasper County Associate Circuit Judge Stephen Carlton and was appointed by the Circuit to serve as the interim Circuit Clerk. She has been with the Jasper County Circuit Court since 2000. Holcomb is a state-certified court reporter.

“Melissa Holcomb has demonstrated her ability in important administrative positions for the Circuit Court in Jasper County, and I am confident she will ably serve the citizens of Jasper County as their new Circuit Clerk,” Gov. Nixon said.
