RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

The Pittsburg State University softball team will play a doubleheader against a non-conference opponent this week. The Gorillas will take on Oklahoma Christian University Tuesday (Feb. 26) at Oklahoma City, Okla.

First pitch for Pitt State’s twinbill against OCU is set for 3:00 p.m. (CST) Tuesday.

The Gorillas are 7-6 on the season. Pitt State is scoring 5.6 runs per game and batting .283 as a team on the young season. Pitt State pitchers have a 3.29 team ERA.

Junior second baseman Kaity Kukowski leads the squad with a .409 batting average. She has four home runs and 11 RBIs to date. Senior designated player Alicia Lowrey is hitting .378 with seven doubles and 12 RBIs. Junior righthander Halle Brin has a 4-3 record with two saves and a 1.94 ERA in 11 appearances on the mound.

Oklahoma Christian will bring a 14-3 record into Tuesday’s twinbill against Pitt State.
