Gorillas fall to Rogers State
The Hillcats beat Pitt State 80-72 Wednesday night.

Christopher Miller scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the second half while Tavian Davis scored 18 first-half points to lead the Rogers State University men’s basketball team to an 80-72 victory over Pittsburg State University Wednesday (Jan. 29) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
The Gorillas (7-12, 3-7 MIAA) trailed just six points, 66-60, with 7:06 to play in the game, but the Hillcats (17-4, 9-3 MIAA) outscored Pitt State, 14-10, down the stretch to hold on for the win.
Dejon Waters Jr. led five Pitt State players in double figures with 16 points. A.J. Walker added 14 points, while Jah-Kobe Womack (13), Marcel Cherry (11) and Ray Elliott (11) also finished in double figures. Pitt State outscored RSU, 24-8, at the free throw line in the contest. The Gorillas converted 24 of 37 charity shots.
RSU shot 52.5 percent from the field in the game, making 32 of 61 shots overall.
Pitt State will close out a three-game homestand Saturday by hosting MIAA rival Northeastern State University at 3:30 p.m.
