Gorillas enter national rankings

The Pittsburg State Gorillas have made the national rankings for the first time this season.

Pitt State has moved up to #23 in the nation in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches Poll released on Monday afternoon.

The Gorillas are 1-0 to start the season, after beating Central Oklahoma 37-35 last week on a last-second field goal. They’ll be at home on Saturday, September 14th, hosting Emporia State.

Three other teams from the MIAA are in the national rankings. Northwest Missouri State is #7, Central Missouri is #21 and Fort Hays State falls from #11 to #25.
