The Pittsburg State University women’s basketball team battled back from a 14-point third quarter deficit but came up just short in the end in an 88-86 loss to the
University of Central Oklahoma Saturday (Jan. 11) at John Lance Arena/Whetzel Court.
Tristan Gegg scored a game high 26 points to lead the Gorillas (8-6, 4-2 MIAA) while Athena Alvarado added 23 points and a game high 11 rebounds while Kaylee DaMitz also posted a double double with 14 points and 12 assists. Maya Williams also scored in double figures with 14 points.
UCO (12-3, 6-1 MIAA) placed five players in double figures: Kelsey Johnson (17), Micayla Haynes (12), Lauren Chancellor (12), Clary Donica (11) and Shatoya Bryson (10).
