Gorillas aim to snap skid against Washburn
PSU travels to Topeka in week 10 Saturday
PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Pittsburg State Gorillas have just two games remaining in the regular season.
On Saturday, Pitt State will travel to Topeka to face the Washburn Ichabods in their final road game of the year.
The Gorillas are aiming to snap a 4-game losing streak, and it won’t be easy. Washburn has given Pitt State problems lately, taking three of the last four against the Gorillas.
Regardless of who they’re playing Saturday, the Gorillas have to make some good things happen, because nobody wants to see a fifth consecutive “L” on the schedule.
“Obviously it’s extremely frustrating. We’re not used to being in this situation,” says head coach Tim Beck, ” We’ve talked to our players about…you have to have a fighter’s mentality. I mean, if you get knocked down you gotta be able to get yourself back up. You’ve got to make your own breaks. We’ve got to have some good things happen, so we can kind of get some positive momentum going.”
Washburn is 4-5 overall this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon.
