Goodwill to open in Pittsburg after building sits vacant for years
PITTSBURG, Kan. — MOKAN Goodwill, based in Kansas City, Mo., plans a ribbon cutting at its location in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Crews built the $760,000 building at 2412 N. Broadway in 2013, but the grand opening that year was put on hold for unknown reasons. The City of Pittsburg told KOAM and FOX14 in October of 2013 that they were told by Goodwill representatives that the Pittsburg store was indefinitely on hold.
The grand opening is now back on. The nonprofit didn’t give a reason for the long pause in opening its Pittsburg store.
The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce says the ribbon cutting will be held on February 21st, 2019, at 8:30 a.m.
They’ll start taking donations on February 15th, 2019.
Goodwill released the following store hours: MON-SAT 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM; SUN 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
