Good food and good tunes in Neosho

Rain did not stop hungry people from attending the Sixth Annual Big Spring Bluegrass & BBQ Festival in Neosho on Saturday.

A large crowd spread out across Big Spring Park to listen to a lineup of seven different bluegrass bands.

But of course, there was more than just good music to enjoy. A wide array of food trucks and local barbeque providers set up shop to feed the masses.

Organizers tell KOAM why the event is important for local music.

“Kind of to reinforce the local bluegrass culture and the local bluegrass music scene, and give those folks a place to play locally and something to be proud of,” said organizer Scott Hall.

Organizers are already working on ideas for new additions to the festival for next year.
