Sheyenne Blanchard found a place she could call home with God’s Resort. She was addicted to drugs at a young age, but she knew that she wanted and needed to change.

“It was pretty hard I mean that lasted six years, there was a couple of times when I knew that there needed to be something to change but even getting to that point where I was low enough that I realized I couldn’t go any lower, there had to be something more.”

After spending a year at ‘In His Hands’, a woman’s discipleship, Sheyenne was clean and transitioned to living at God’s Resort.

“I just have really been able to be a part of the community here and to learn how to have accountability and just be a part of something.”

God’s Resort has helped her to move forward and to stay on the right path.

“I can’t even explain the love this place has shown me and just to encourage me to keep doing the right thing, the next right thing and next right thing like actually being a functioning human being and to be loved.”

Now the ministry is expanding, its broke ground on two new fiveplex apartments for transitional housing.

“People need places of grace and that’s what this is” said Executive Director, Jay St. Clair.

The new apartment buildings will open up 10 spots for people on the God’s Resort waiting list which will give more people the chance to start over.

“It’ll just give more opportunity for people to come and find what we have to offer which is that kind of community that helps people get where they couldn’t get by themselves” added St. Clair.

The new apartments are expected to be completed by the end of the year and be ready to move in.

“I know that if anybody got the chance to be a part of this their life would be changed forever” added Blanchard.

God’s Resort’s next project is also in the works, they are planning for another location in Webb City.
