Galena, MO receives $40,000 grant to improve water treatment system
GALENA, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is awarding a $40,000 grant to the city of Galena, Missouri. The funds will be used to evaluate Galena’s wastewater system.
The city received the grant through the Small Community Engineering Assistance Program, which offers funding to help small communities cover engineering costs for evaluating wastewater system improvements.
Galena will spend the grant identifying wastewater system improvements needed to continue reliable service to the area, meeting permit requirements and reducing stormwater infiltration into sewer collection pipes. The facility plan should be complete in May 2021.
