G.A.R. Cemetery holds 2nd annual remembrance ceremony
MIAMI, Okla. — Tonight marks the second annual “Angel of Hope Candlelight Remembrance Ceremony” at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.
The event takes place in the garden of angels at the angel of hope statue. It’s aimed at bringing people together who have lost a child, whether little, or full-grown. Family members had the names of their children read, and then they were able to place a white flower at the base of the angel statue.
G.A.R. Cemetery Office Manager Nancy Bro says “This is a very important ceremony for us to be able to allow the public to come to a place and be able to mourn and heal during their time of sorrow.”
Despite the cold weather, nearly 40 people came out to honor their loved ones.
