JASPER COUNTY, Mo. – Just before 3:45 p.m. reports of a structure fire at 9521 County Lane 126 alerted Jasper County E911.

Carthage Fire, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies, Mercy Carthage responded.  Carthage Fire Chief Ryan Huntley tell us Avilla Fire responded as mutual aid.

Neighbors say they didn’t believe anyone was home at the time.

Carthage Fire was out for attack in a defensive fire as they evacuated nearby trailer houses.

Fire was under control in 30 minutes.

One firefighter was treated on the scene for unknown medical.  He was not injured by fire.

The trailer home was totally destroyed.  Fire did not spread to nearby trailers.

Liberty Utilities responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.  It was found that no one was living there currently. The State Fire Marshal was requested to respond assisting with investigation.
