Fugitive arrested, wanted for burglaries in southwest Missouri

Authorities track down and arrest a fugitive wanted in connection with several burglaries and thefts in McDonald County and the surrounding area.

The Ozark Drug Enforcement Team, with the assistance of Jasper County, Duquesne PD, Newton County and Joplin PD, located Craig Vanlue, 27, on Friday, March 1st, 2019.

ODET says Vanlue was a passenger in a stolen car out of Rogers, Arkansas. ODET detectives tracked him down in Joplin just west of Flying J Truck Stop on FF Highway.

Officers say they found a handgun in the vehicle and several items of drug paraphernalia.

The female driver was also arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle. No word on formal charges against her at this time.

The McDonald County Prosecutor’s Office filed a charge of tampering with a motor vehicle against Vanlue.
