Frigid Arctic Airmass; Developing Ice and Snow Concerns by Mid-Week
National Outlook for Monday
An arctic air mass will remain over the Central U.S. this week with frigid temperatures and dangerous wind chills. This air mass will gradually expand into the Gulf Coast states and Northwest U.S. by late this week. A significant ice and snow event could develop by midweek from the southern Plains into the Mississippi and Ohio Valleys to the East Coast impacting travel and commerce.
