Friday Blog: More thunderstorms back working back in. Plus a look at severe weather threats. -Doug

We made it to another Friday.  We been dealing with many rounds of thunderstorms and severe weather this week.  We have another round that will try to work for us later today.  Most of the day looks good.  However, we have a cold front working in later today with some isolated pop up thunderstorms along the front.

I don’t think many will pop up, but the ones that do could be strong to low grade severe.  This front continues to shift into our southern counties by evening and thunderstorms really flare up tonight.

Friday Night

We will see period of thunderstorms, but I expect the severe weather to stay south.  We could see a few stronger storms with maybe a low grade severe storm or two, but the bigger guys should stay south of us.

Saturday Morning

Periods of showers and thunderstorms continue into Saturday morning.  We will see additional thunderstorms pop up on Saturday afternoon.  However, again I think the bigger guys will stay SE of the viewing area.

Saturday Pm

Cooler air works in by Saturday evening as all of these storms exit the region.  Here is a look at our severe threats over the next 4-5 weeks.

Long Range

Long range forecast is below.

May 26nd-28th: With the exception of a warm Friday, mild for this stretch. Dry weather for Thursday. We’ll have slight t-storm chances with a severe threat Friday before better t-storm chances return Saturday with another severe threat.

May 29th-June 4th:  Warm temperatures all week long. Slight rain and t-storm chances for both Monday and Tuesday. We’ll watch for better t-storm chances with a severe threat Wednesday and Thursday. Slight t-storm chances with a severe threat for Friday before more scattered t-storms with another severe threat for our Saturday.
