Free lunch for first responders on Labor Day

Olive Garden delivers lunch to police and fire

Joplin’s Olive Garden restaurant celebrated Labor Day by giving back to the folks who serve our community.

The Italian restaurant chain gave a free meal to some Joplin first responders.

A gesture of gratitude for Joplin firefighters and police officers. Justice Gannaway, a local firefighter said, “The community here in Joplin is always really good, business owners are really good to the Fire Department in taking care of us and bringing us lunch. We’ve got people that bring us cookies. It’s very nice of them. The Fire Department and the Police Department we’re all here to support the community of Joplin to provide public service to them and it’s nice when a business such as Oliver Garden gives back to us for what we do.”

The Joplin Olive Garden has been giving free meals to first responders since 2002.
