Four student athletes sign National Letters of Intent to play collegiate basketball
Victory Basketball holds signings at Ozark CC
Joplin, MO — There student athletes are a part of Victory Basketball, a faith based travel basketball team out of Joplin.
This year, Victory has 9 players on its roster who have committed to play college basketball. Four of those athletes signed Saturday afternoon at Ozark Community College.
Lamar’s Jonny Jeffries, Pittsburg’s Payton Cantrell and Stockton’s Gannon Kenny will be sticking locally and will play together at Fort Scott Community College.
” I think we both have like family atmospheres in Victory and at Lamar. Like it’s all family oriented. We’re like really close-knit. I think that’s what really separates us, ” says Jeffries.
I get to go on with some of my best friends that I made over the summer. And it’s just cool because not very many get to go play at the next level, ” adds Cantrell.
Lamar’s Truman Kaderly is heading NAIA and signing with Oklahoma Wesleyan.
” It’s a dream come true. I feel like Oklahoma Wesleyan is a great fit for me academically. As far as like basketball fit — I think I’m going to fit in well with the team. I have great relationships with the coaches. And not only is a place for me to grow as a basketball player, but as a Christian too, ” says Kaderly .
