Four-Staters enjoy weekend fun at the Mo-Kan Dragway

Mo-Kan Dragway held its 18th Annual Mopars Invade event over the weekend.

It was an all-Chrysler drag race, car show and swap meet.

About 100 cars raced on the track, while more than 40 cars participated in the Show-and-Shine Car Show.

Mo-Kan Dragway owner Carl Blanton says that since there are not a lot of these Mopar events around the country, this annual event has gotten popular.

Mo-Kan management was excited to give people back a sense of normalcy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It seems like a lot of people are craving it. When we are open, we see larger numbers for specific types of events. We got the bleachers marked for social distancing as per the governor’s order. And everybody seems to be kind of respecting that, and it’s good to get outside and enjoy the fresh air,” said Blanton.

Mo-Kan Dragway has another event scheduled for next Saturday: The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular.
