Four Gorillas earn Academic All-America honors


Four members of the Pittsburg State University football team – senior defensive lineman Ned Bingaman, senior offensive lineman Ryan Dodd, junior punter Todd Morrow and senior defensive lineman Levi Wyrick – earned 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America honors Tuesday (Dec. 10).

Bingaman, Dodd and Wyrick were named to the first-team Academic All-America squad, while Morrow garnered second-team Academic All-America recognition. Bingaman, Dodd and Wyrick also earned Academic All-America honors in 2018.

Bingaman (Overland Park, Kan.) has a 3.97 GPA as a justice studies major; Dodd (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) has a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master’s of business administration degree; Morrow (Lamar, Mo.) has a 3.52 GPA as a construction management major; and, Wyrick (Elk City, Kan.) has a 4.00 GPA as a physical education major.

Eight MIAA student-athletes earned Google Cloud Academic All-America® honors. Pitt State and Colorado State-Pueblo were the only institutions with four honorees on the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II football team
