Former MSSU defensive lineman Brandon Williams named to NFL Pro Bowl
It will be Williams' first Pro Bowl appearance
JOPLIN, Mo. — Former Missouri Southern Lion Brandon Williams will make his first NFL Pro Bowl appearance later this month in Orlando.
Williams is replacing Bengals DT Geno Atkins on the Pro Bowl roster. Atkins is unable to play due to injury.
The former MSSU standout has proven to be one of the best, if not the best defensive tackles in the NFL since he was drafted in 2013. He was part of a Baltimore defense that was ranked #1 overall this season, allowing just 292 yards per game.
Williams finished the year with 34 tackles, one sack and one pass breakup. He is the fourth member of the Ravens to be named to this year’s Pro Bowl.
In his time at Missouri Southern, Williams was a 2X 1st team All-MIAA selection, including being named the league’s defense player of the year in 2012.
