Former Missouri Senator Ed Emery has passed away
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former Missouri Senator and candidate for the 4th U.S. Congressional District Ed Emery, has passed away.
According to a release on Emery’s Facebook page, Emery suffered a “heart episode” while speaking at an event hosted by the Randolph County Republican Women in Moberly the evening of August 3rd. He collapsed at the event and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.
The release, posted yesterday morning, said Emery was continuing to recover at the hospital.
KRCG-TV in Columbia reports Emery passed at the hospital. Missouri Governor Mike Parson tweeted this morning about Emery’s passing. Several others have taken to Facebook and Twitter offering their condolences.
For those who don’t know, former Senator Ed Emery has passed away.
We served together in both the house and senate, and Ed leaves a enduring legacy in public service — he will be missed.
