Former Joplin standout Brown signs pro basketball contract

JOPLIN, Mo. — Former Joplin High School and Missouri Southern standout Charlie Brown is getting his shot at professional basketball.
Brown has signed a free agent contract with the BG Topstar Leitershofen/Stadtbergen Red Kangaroos out of Augsburg, Germany.
Brown was a four-year starter for the Joplin Eagles from 2011-2014. He earned All-Conference honors all four seasons, and was an All-State selection as a senior.
After high school, Brown played at Missouri Southern for two seasons before transferring to Minnesota State-Mankato to play his final two years of college ball.
Brown finished up with the Mavericks in 2018. He started all 34 games for Minnesota State his senior year and was a 1st team All-NSIC selection.
