Former Gorillas Dearman, Appier qualify for 2020 Olympic Trials

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Former Pittsburg State Gorillas Emilyn Dearman and Garrett Appier have qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Dearman placed 5th in the heptathlon at the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championships last weekend to qualify. She finished the event with a personal-best 5,945 points.
Appier placed 10th in the shot put at the USATF Outdoor Championships, with a best throw of 66 feet, 1.75 inches to qualify for the trials.
