Former Gorilla Moorman Tabbed for Kansas Sports Hall of Fame

Former Pittsburg State University All-America football player and track & field star Brian Moorman has been seleced for induction into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame today (June 1).
Moorman became the first four-time All-American football player in school history (1995-98), and he was named to PSU’s prestigious 100th Anniversary Football Team in 2003. In track & field, Moorman earned All-America honors on 10 occasions, including three straight national championships in the 400 meter hurdles (1997-99). He also claimed eight MIAA individual event titles. Additionally, Moorman was a six-time Academic All-America® selection, earning the accolades in three consecutive years in both football and track & field.
Following his college career, Moorman signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks before finding his home with the Buffalo Bills. In his 14 seasons, including stints with the Seahawks, Bills and the Dallas Cowboys, Moorman earned two Pro Bowl selections as a punter and led the NFL in yards per punt during the 2005 season.
He was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-2000’s Team, was inducted to the Pitt State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 and the MIAA Hall of Fame in 2011.
The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame ceremony wll be held Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Wichia Boathouse. Tickets for the 2015 induction cermony go on sale on Aug. 3.
