Football game cancelled due to COVID-19 exposure

CARTHAGE, Mo. – A Carthage High School student athlete tests positive for COVID-19, leading to the cancellation of an upcoming football game.

The district made the announcement Sunday, Sept. 6 on social media.

Officials say students and staff exposed to the positive case have been notified by the Jasper County Health Department.

School officials say that as a result of this exposure, the 9th grade football game scheduled to take place on Monday, Sept. 7 is cancelled.

9th grade football practice on Monday is also cancelled.
