Folks flock to Eagle Days
Plenty of people flocked to Stella, Missouri on Saturday for Eagle Days.
The water ways around Stella are home to many bald eagles this time of year making it a perfect spot for the Eagle Days celebration.
Visitors could enjoy activities in the Veterans Memorial Park and food at local churches. But the main attraction is the eagles which can be spotted in and around the town as they hunt the wildlife in the water.
“Getting people out in the winter is one of the things Master Naturalist likes to do, and this is such a fabulous event. I mean, we have a national symbol we could have lost to extinction and it is such a magnificent bird to see in flight,” said Val Frankoski with the Missouri Master Naturalists.
The Festival of Eagles was organized by the Missouri Master Naturalists with help from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
