Five residents with COVID-19 die at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin
JOPLIN, Mo – Spring River Christian Village in Joplin reports five residents with COVID-19 have died.
In a press release, the facility says that while the patients had previously tested positive for COVID-19, it has not yet been determined whether it was a factor in their deaths.
44 residents and 26 staff members have tested positive for the disease at the senior living facility.
Joplin, MO, July 1, 2020, The Christian Horizons (CH) COVID-19 Task Force reported that in the past 24 hours, one resident and one associate have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus at Spring River Christian Village, a senior living community located in Joplin, Missouri. To date:
• 44 residents have tested positive, and of these five have died. It has not yet been determined whether COVID-19 was a factor.
• Of the 44, 37 are now being cared for at Spring River, one has been hospitalized, and one has left the community.
• 26 associates have tested positive, and eight are now classified as recovered. All associates exhibiting symptoms or testing positive are not allowed to return to the campus until they show negative results from two separate tests.
