Aftermath From A Residential Fire In Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. – An overnight fire left a Joplin residence with extensive damage.

Around 1 AM on Sunday, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a fire at 1019 South Indiana Avenue.

Units arrived within minutes, noting that the outbuilding behind the residence had caught fire.

Officials say items in the backyard caused the fire to spread to the home.

While the fire did cause some minor damage to the house, everyone did get out safely.

Six trucks responded and 17 firefighters helped put out the fire around 2 AM.

The cause for the fire is under investigation.
