Fire leaves Sandstone Gardens with heavy damage

State fire marshal investigating cause

A state fire marshal is investigating a three-alarm fire at Sandstone Gardens, an architectural landmark business near Loma Linda, Missouri.

Around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, the Reddings Mill Fire Department responded to a smoke alarm report, finding the building engulfed in flames.

Reddings Mill requested help from surrounding agencies, including Seneca, Quapaw, Galena and Joplin Fire Departments, along with Joplin police, MODOT and the Newton County Ambulance District.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still being determined.

Reddings Mill officials say the building is most likely a total loss.
