Posted March 20, 2013: Police are investigating an early morning fire that damaged the state’s Probation and Parole Office in Nevada, Missouri.

Workers say they got a call from a security company at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

The damage is not widespread, however, firefighters say the building will have to be remodeled.

“Their IT guy wanted to come in and see if there’s – on their computer system – what’s salvageable,” says Nevada Fire Chief William Thornton. “That way they can get going again tomorrow. I know the director here has been looking at other office spaces, as far as in Nevada.”

The building has security cameras and police are reviewing the footage.
