Astrophotography Pt. 1

Jesse joins farmer/astro photographer Jason Burns to talk about his life both behind and away from the camera.

During the day, Jason tends to his farm, harvesting corn and feeding the livestock, but at night, he sets his sights to the stars.

When nighttime rolls around, Jason takes photos of basically anything in outer space that may intrigue him.

He also says the best time to take a picture is when there's no noise in the sky.  The ideal night features no moon, no clouds, and no shimmers from the stars.

The way Jason gets his pictures his by leaving his lens open and taking one long picture.  This picture can take up to 5 minutes and the main idea is that he allows as much light from space as possible to enter the camera.  He'll then take hundreds of similair photos and stack them together to build the image.

If you want to check out Jason's photos, you can swing by the Memorial Auditorium in Pittsburg, Kansas between 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 20th.
