Fatal crash under investigation in Mayes County

MAYES COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities continue investigating the cause of a fatal crash in Mayes County, Oklahoma. It was raining and the roadway was wet, but it’s unknown at this time if that played a role in the crash.

The incident happened on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 around 5:55 p.m. on US-69 about ¼ mile south of 540 Road, located one mile south of Pryor.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 2017 Freightliner  and 2008 Cadillac CTS crashed. The driver of the Cadillac, Jose Torres-Garcia, 26, of Tulsa, died at the scene.

There were no other injuries in the crash.
