Farmer’s markets start offering online sales
Webb City Farmer's Market and Joplin Empire Market start selling online
WEBB CITY, Mo. – Local farmer’s markets have started offering a new way for residents to buy their favorite local crafts and produce.
The Webb City Farmer’s Market and Joplin Empire Market have opened online storefronts, for people who may be concerned with shopping in person.
All you have to do is order online and make a quick trip to pick it up in person.
Webb City’s online store is open Thursdays at noon through Sundays at noon, with pickup happening on Tuesdays from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The Empire Market’s online store is open from Tuesdays at 8 pm through Thursdays at 8 pm, with drive-thu pickup happening Saturdays 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Rachael Lynch with the Webb City Farmers Market says their online platform has been well received, and more items will be posted as farmers continue to increase their production.
“You don’t have to go into a crowded store. You can come into an open-air pavilion where people are wearing masks, everyone is really helping out with social distancing. So it’s just a safe way for people to get fresh local produce,” says Lynch.
